My 3 year old was gifted this tank and a beta last year for Christms by a family member. We recently cracked the tank (after almost a year) while washing it (our fault!). This was the 2nd purchase of this particular tank in our household. It is small, sturdy and adorable!

Edit: I was wrong. The betta pellet ball food stuff /does/ fit through the slots at the top.I'm always torn about this, b/c something like this is better than the cup they come in, but this really is not big enough for a Betta, or most things.I also don't think people should be priced out of having an animal companion. So, get the largest tank you can afford (check Craig's List, yard sales, etc. and never use any soap on anything). I think you may be able to find something larger than this, for not that much more money, but I'm not sure. When I found out how fast Betta fish can swim, I felt awful that my tank (a real one, but only 3 gallons, which was not large enough for them to really swim) was so small.I bought this tank b/c of the size, specifically the length.I have a Blue Mystery snail that got removed from the 'real' tank a long time ago.I finally put him/her back into the real tank, and idk what went wrong, but shim stopped eating and scooting, so I got them out. They'd been in a little plastic tank I had for changes/emergencies. One of those corner, Superman emblem shaped deals. I got this one so he/she'd have a little longer of an area to scoot before having to turn/climb.I removed the Frozen pictures. The back bit comes off pretty easily. From the photo in the listing, it seemed like it slid out, and could be replaced w/ other pictures, but mine is booger goo'd on, in case that matters to anyone. I highly recommend making your own, and putting it on the back. My Bettas always enjoyed having pictures of things to look at.The lid can come off fairly easily, so be mindful of that. The slots in the lid are not large enough for the kind of food I use (Betta ball pellet things), so also keep that in mind, thought it's not a big deal to lift the lid in order to feed your critter.I am concerned about the drain hole in the bottom. It's unnecessary, and can potentially lead to leakage issues down the road. But the bottom of the inside of the tank is smooth, with no rough edges or anything, so I am glad for that.

My daughter loves this tank for her beta. It is very cute. The only downside it is has cardboard in two spots, so I have gotten the cardboard wet a couple of times while cleaning the tank, but it has held up well even in the spots that got wet.
