No instructions on how to thread the belt, so I found a video on YouTube but the guy demonstrating it covered the mechanism with his hands during the critical threading procedure making it pretty much worthless. Took me hours to get it right, not a simple as it would seem. It’s also costs less at Harbor Freight where these guys probably bought it and marked up the price on Amazon.

I got tired of paying a ridiculous amount of money for custom picture frames. I bought this size and still cut the straps shorter to make it easier to manage. I purchased $9 worth of cedar, sanded it, the glued it and clamped it. Worked very well . The only challenge is that the straps slip out of the guides when loose. It would be better if the strap went through a guide rather than over it (hint to manufacturer).Still a great deal!

I bought these three years ago, and used them so far for gluing more than 100 picture frames. Yes, they don't come with instructions, but you will figure this out (Google, YouTube). Start with a little pressure, so you can still make minor adjustments, then increase the pressure, wait 30 minutes, and your picture frame is ready for sanding. With a little practice it will become very easy to use, and the results are fantastic. Over the years, I also found other, unexpected, use for these, like when gluing the enclosure for a Flux Capacitor replica or the angled piece for a Hoverboard.

I use this to glue up picture frames. Actually I used to use a load strap and some homemade corners. This is more convenient becausea) I don't have to remember to put the load strap back in the truck when I'm going to need it :-)b) This has a wide strap which seems to make it easier to set workpiece up.c) The strap is permanently attached at one end to the ratcher, which is convenient -- and the ratchet is smaller that the load strap ones.d) The corners are larger and so are a bit more stable

Not a terrible product, I bought this ratcheting band clamp to glue the four corners of wooden draw boxes and picture frames. I guess there is a slight learning curve with this band clamp (since there's no instructions). Actually it worked fine for gluing four corners of a draw joint or for joints greater than 3/4" inches, were the learning curve came in is trying to glue the corners of picture frames that have roundover edges etc.that are not exactly thick (1/4). Gave me a rough time, Guess there's not enough meat to clamp. Which is disappointing since I often buy Pittsburgh products. Works well for other application as mentioned above. I guess the solution would be to do all the millwork first, band clamp the four edges, and router the edges last. I Don't know, I will try this approach next time ... trouble is the frame I make are quite large generally 42" X 32" of greater. Which would make it cumbersome to router the edges last on a medium size router table. That's my humble opinion.
