Unzuverlässiges Billigteil, welches den Namen Polaroid zu unrecht trägt. Da ist der interne Blitz meiner kleinen Nikon um Welten besser.

Don't even think about it!I purchased it for a trip but it arrived very late, almost after 10 days. Regarding the flash, its a Chinese rebranded flash ( similar to Metz 24AF-1), having the guide number of 20 actually and not 24 as advertised. GN 20 is not very high. In built flash of my d5100 has GN of 13. The flash is TTL only, that means, it can be operated only via camera. There is no way to control it manually since there are no buttons on flash, just 1 on/off button and test button. Since the GN is low, at night it always shoots at full power. So there is no TTL happening (or maybe the product I received is faulty!).I used it with D5100 + 40mm prime lens and this worked fine but it took a default value of f/4 and 1/60 in auto mode. With 85mm the power is too low. In Aperture mode, the shutter speed stays at 1/200th. Ideally on the basis of aperture, the flash should meter the light, but it always fires at full intensity. Same happens at Shutter mode. The max shutter speed is 1/200 but then aperture stays wide open at f/2.8. In manual mode, both A and S can be adjusted but exposure always remains at full power. Probably the unit I got is faulty or something is wrong with the compatibility.Once you move from TTL to manual flash mode in settings of flash in-camera. The exposure can be changed from 1/32 to full but this flash always fires at full intensity. So its useless. I tried using it with other camera to check if manual mode works, the flash can be fired but only at full power. The bounce feature is useless on ceilings, since the flash power is too low. However one can bounce it on walls to get some creative effect. It comes in a small box and with NO accessories like diffuser, gels, cloth, etc. Its a full plastic body flash, even the hot shoe socket is also plastic with pins coming out like all-pins. Recycle time is ~10s with 2 AA Energisers. I bought it for price of Rs 1699 / 25$ (what I paid) since it was very cheap TTL but seems its a piece of junk. I will be returning it.

I got the product today and tested it. The flash gun is awesome considering it's relatively inexpensive :) The shipment's pretty quick and I would recommend it for people who's in it for simple photography stuff :)

I ordered this flash because I am on a budget and couldn't afford to buy a $400+ flash unit for my Nikon D3100. Over the weekend I borrowed a friend's Nikon SB-600 flash unit and compared it to this polaroid flash unit, I must say the pictures are incredibly similar. You don't get the zoom/metering options on this flash but you still have the same exposure/flash control options that you have on your onboard flash. It also comes with a light on the front to help your camera with it's autofocus AND that light also dilates your subjects pupils before the flash fires to prevent red eye. I can honestly say that I am amazed at this flash because I really thought it would pale in comparison to the SB-600, but it does not. This flash is not bulky and is very light weight and produces amazing results especially when you bounce the flash off the ceiling for less harsh shadow/shine effects.THIS IS A GREAT BUY!
