HDMI connector/adapter does not work. Had to bypass the hub for HDMI to connect laptop.

I chose this unit because of it's size and it had exactly what I needed. The HDMI port was really the star of the show. We wanted it so outside venders could d a presentation without being signed onto our network. It was a lot of work to install only to find out the HDMI port is defective. I would not buy another product from Jiangce.

I picked this up because I got tired of constantly searching for an outlet when I needed my soldering iron or other tool for my projects. Now it's imbedded in my custom desk and my creativity and projects are now MUCH less impeded.

This unit is made out of this sheet metal, including the top. The chassis is ferrous steel, but the top is non-magnetic. Does not appear to be aluminum (underside of bezel is not painted) but it scratches very easily so not stainless.There is a button to pop up the outlets and the top is soft-open which is nice.. The moving part does not sit perfectly flush with the bezel along the back edge when closed, exposing some fairly sharp corners. The front and back bezels are thin but the side bezels are larger than some of the other similar units and stick out 0.85" from the under-desk body of the unit.The top is thin at 0.1" with a nice bevel on the edge so it should sit nicely on the desk without a lot of protrusion (assuming the moving part was flush with the top)Inside there's two outlets, a charger with USB A and USB-C ports which will supply up to 3.5 A total before cutting out (17.5W). Then Ethernet, HDMI and USB3 pass-throughs. The pass-throughs have pigtails coming out the bottom of the unit. The pigtails are pretty heavy duty, but are not anchored to the chassis to ensure slack for opening the top, so if they are pulled too tight, the top won't open.Considering the cost of some of these types of units, this one seems decent. Would be 5 stars if the top was flush.
