I was hooked on self-adjusting pliers after getting some of those original RoboGrips from a TV infomercial. I ordered these in the 7" size and they are a bit flimsy. The jaws are slightly misaligned when closed, and the hand-comfort/ergonomics aren't as good if you have small hands as the handles are initially very wide apart and have no bends in them to make them parallel.When closed, the teeth have no section that meet parallel (it's more of a triangle) so gripping things like nuts and bolts is not along the "face" of a hex, but the points if that makes sense. The original RoboGrips provide more of a parallel set of plier surfaces for more even grip and they are thicker so they have more contact points.

Love these adjustable pliers. Spring loaded for one hand use, compact enough to reach into small places. And has MAJOR GRIP. Easily a mechanics best friend

This is a durable, handy set of pliers. The 7" set is a perfect size for most household jobs. I liked it so much, I bought a second pair to keep in my car. Because it's adjustable, these are always the first pair of pliers I grab.
