We have a 36x36x63 for the daytime, and this shelf holds the 'stream' for drinking and bathing.4 bolts give you a good leveling range. I love the outside retainer isn't just a washer, but a short plate from the same as the rim of the shelf. It can orient vertically or horizontally, and it spreads the stress of supporting out over a good space.We suspended a few small toys beneath it.Trying to determine if I want to add a second one.

Looks like it was a match and made for the cage we had, i ended up buying a second one it was perfect for my situation, it is rather large.

Purchased after buying the Preview medium bird cage after reading many positive reviews.My cocktail speaks most her time on this shelf as it lends more support and less fatigue. Being ground feeders in their homeland, I think these birds appreciate the alternative switch up from traditional round roosts. I find she also prefers to sleep on the shelf over roosting. She has other options in her cage that she also likes including; flattened concrete perches and a nice swing. Sometimes for entertainment she will sit on her shelf and reach out and push her swing with her beak and watch the swing go back and forth. I think she also finds this comforting as sometimes she will beak chatter when doing this and fall asleep.

IN SHORT> Nice and big, a full 12" radius> Well built> Installed almost effortlessly in my cage. Not designed for Pervue 485 cage , but can be installed with a little difficulty> Same pewter gray "night camouflage" which is great for hiding droppingsUSESA good general purpose platform. I use it for a 10" diameter terra cotta flower pot dish, which is my Senegal's "swimming pool". The terra cotta dish is perfect, as it is the perfect depth, it is too heavy for my parrot to lift and dump, evaporation from the sides of the dish keeps the water fresh and cool, and the rough surface is easy for bird feet to grip.INSTALLATIONThe holes in the sides of the shelf itself are threaded, so you mount a "strip washer" on a winged machine screw (provided), push it through the bars, and screw it into the side of the shelf.SHORTCOMINGThe only significant shortcoming is that the leading edge of the shelf is very narrow---there's really no place for birdy feet to grip. This is a good quality product. The two sides that attach to the cage are 12" long so it's very large. Instead of a washer for the bolts to fit through on the outside of the cage it has four 3" long slabs of metal made from the same material as the shelf. This enables it to fit on widely spaced vertical or horizontal cage bars. The shelf itself is very sturdy with heavily welded components and a grey/black textured powder coat that resists rust. The spacing between the bars on the shelf is 3/4" and the bars themselves are fairly thick. There are no sharp edges. I bought two of these and they arrived in three days!! I am not using these for birds, but for my two furry friends. It works great for them and their cage so I assume it would work great for birds and their cages. Great product at a great price, I will update if anything changes.*UPDATE*Had these shelves for several months now. The powder coat is doing a great job holding up to the pee and poop, however the exposed metal nut has turned brown and is rusting because of the pee. The one component that can't be powder coated of course. Other than that nothing has broken, the powder coat hasn't chipped, the nut still fits securely into the shelf, my little ones have not cut themselves, and it does a great job of not collecting pee and poop. If I had a bigger cage I would buy more.
