This thermostat was easy to install and works well. It was recommended by our HVAC guy.

I have purchase several of these. I'm a handyman and have found this brand to be easier to use than other thermostats for people. They are also very reliable except for one that I got that had flux on the connector pins where it mounts to the base. It had some odd intermittent problems until I used some rubbing alcohol and a tooth brush to clean those connector pins.

If you don't want to spend your life running around charging things on your comuter, this is the FINEST thermostat. 5 GOLD Stars. Simple: On/Off and Heat/Cold. Only two decisions to make. Takes two batteries which last a LONG time but I had an electrician hardwire it in. This is my second--#1 lasted 5 years and probably still had life left but I didn't want to chance it wearing out. For the money and if you cherish a hassle-free life, this is for you.

The shipping was fast but the packaging was lacking. The thermostat was placed in a sealed plastic bag that is lined with a thin bubble wrap. Although decent it does not provide adequate protection against drops, or any rough handling during transit. A small cardboard box with air pillow film should have been used instead to ensure no damage to the thermostat. The PRO T701 thermostat arrived in retail packaging with 2 AA batteries, instruction manuels, and mounting hardware. It appeared to be new as described but i found that behind the faceplate of the thermostat a square barcode had been partially blotted by a dot made by a permanent marker. The T701 (pictured above in attached photo) is the installed purchased item. The wiring was easy as the thermostat was bought as a replacement for the same model. I simply took a picture 📷 of the wiring of the old thermostat before removal and copied the wiring for the new one. It works well so far although its only been about 4 days and has not shown the same issues of the previous model it replaced. The thermostat was similarly priced to other sellers and was a good deal in my opinion. I would recommend buying one if you like ease of use without all the programming and issues programmable thermostats bring. Additionally i was not gifted or given a discount for this item in exchange for my review. I purchased this item with my own money and was not influenced in any way.
