I'm 5'4" and the smalls don't even cover all of my shin (falls about 2-3" from my knee). I wore them for an hour today during a class and took them off and my legs were covered in bruises. I'll definitely be buying a harder set because the foam doesn't do much.

These are great. I use them for kicking the heavy bag during kickboxing classes. I used to bruise horribly and couldn't even kick that hard. These have helped me tremendously.

These work well for what i wanted. They are not going to fully protect you like a hard style shin guard, but they protect you while letting you feel the checks and kicks. very good for the price.
