These shoes require a pretty extensive break in. It took about ten miles of walking until they were comfortable and not tearing up my ankles. Once broken in they are very comfortable.I walk about 5-10 miles during my work days and work three days a week. I work in a hospital so the walking is all in a controlled environment with tile floor. I bought these shoes February 2024 and the soles are detaching in the front and back in July 2024. I bought these because they were advertised as walking shoes but they seem to not be up to the task for very long.They were nice and looked good while they last. These might still be good for those who don't walk quite as much.

I needed a pair of comfortable casual dress shoes for work, black in color, and had a difficult time finding a shoe in the many local stores with a good fit that was also perfect for a noon walk each day. Heard about the Rockport Men's Eureka Walking Shoe, thought it looked classy enough to wear at the office, and ordered a pair in my size with the hope it would be as comfortable and classy as the advertisement claimed. Received the shoes and started wearing them to work. The first day or two, they were a bit stiff, but after wearing them for the first full week, the seemed to flex and loosen up a bit. By the end of the first week, I was quite satisfied with them! Very comfortable, yet classy enough for office attire I'd found a pair of brown shoes for work locally that not only cost double what the Rockport pair cost me; they are very stiff and uncomfortable, and not seeming to break in at all. I'm considering ordering another pair of the Rockport Walking Shoe in a brown color, rather than suffer through the day with the much more expensive dress shoes I purchased locally.
