I keep this in my truck bed toolbox in my emergency kit. It provides great peace of mind knowing that I can easily get good strong sparks, no matter what the weather is like. It appears to be made of quality materials and good craftsmanship.

Easy to see with the orange color, and lightweight. A perfect addition to my camping pack, and just as easy to use. I definitely recommend this! (Make sure you know how to start a fire with kindling though, otherwise you'll probably burn right through the material here, though that goes without saying since all rods are like that) 😉

How much of a review do you need to read about a gadget with (at most) just one moving part? I didn't think so either, so I'll keep it short and sweet. The ferrocerrium rod here is bigger than it looks online; it weighs in at a quarter of a pound and it's thick and easy to grip. The orange finish is just for looks, because it comes off with the first drag of the *very* effective steel scraper. The scraper is big, easy to grip, and does a MUCH better job than the typical 'broken off piece of hacksaw blade' that most other ferrocerium rods come with.I'm not a chemist, but I assume that all ferrocerium is the same thing. So I conclude that it's the steel sparker which makes this firestarter so effective. Each strike with the scraper produces a truly massive shower of sparks, which in my case bounced and sizzled around my steel kitchen sink for two or three seconds. After several of these gratifying pyrotechnic strikes, my smoke alarm went off and I was more than satisfied.I didn't test the included kindling cord, because when you buy a rod like this you buy it because *it* works well, not because of the freebies that it comes with. And this rod just works well. Really bloody well. Five stars.

I recently tried out the RXMY Fire Starter Survival Tool, and it has quickly become an essential part of my camping and survival gear. The ferro rod measures a substantial 5 inches, providing plenty of material for generating sparks. It's clear that this tool is built to last, offering durability that can withstand the rigors of outdoor use.One of the critical features I appreciate is its reliability in various weather conditions. Whether wet or windy, this fire starter consistently produces a strong spark, making it easier to get a fire going when needed. The ergonomic design ensures a comfortable grip, which is crucial when starting a fire in less-than-ideal conditions.Using the flint fire starter is straightforward and efficient. It creates a shower of sparks that easily ignites tinder, and the included striker does an excellent job of scraping the ferro rod. The compact size makes it easy to carry in my backpack, ensuring I'm always prepared for an emergency. The RXMY Fire Starter Survival Tool is a must-have for any outdoor enthusiast or survivalist. Its durability, reliability, and ease of use make it a standout product I highly recommend for anyone looking to enhance their camping or emergency preparedness kit.
