This is our 5th Sealer, the first couple were the original tall versions of the "brand" sold at the big C store which we just plain worked to death. Then we tried the newer version from the same manufacturer which has been very disappointing. Tried the one on Amazon that has the little slide the bag through it approach, it was a pointless exercise. We cook with our Sous Vide machine at least 5 times a week. To save money, we regularly purchase large packs and then freeze Pork Tenderloin and Chicken Thighs with marinade in the bags which makes the prep time nothing on a daily basis. It's just a single session to do all the bagging and freezing. That means the lesser machines have 2 distinct drawbacks.1. Dealing with liquid in the bag.You either fill the drip tray every few bags, and deal with having to reseal over and over, never getting it just right slowing you down and settling for "imperfect" work.2. Dealing with the sealing overheatingThe other machines eventually overheat on the sealing strip which slows you down again and is just a PITA.This machine...Wow. Follow the instructions and the liquid seal works perfectly, let me say it more clearly PERFECTLY!Truly amazing, after 10 tenderloins and 12 packs of 4 thighs, all with marinade in the bags, there were, seriously, 4 drops of liquid in the drip tray. In any of our previous machines we'd have had to jump in and press the seal override every bag and still would end up with so much liquid in the tray we'd have had to stop and clean 7 or 8 times. What's more, set it to liquid (following the instructions to have the bag lower than the sealer and supported), push button and you can turn around and start filling the next bag! This alone cut our time down to less than half once we figured out that we should make a bag, and then fill while the next one seals in a workflow pattern. AMAZING. Have I said PERFECT yet? Amazing. On the overheating front. Making up the 22 bags and sealing alternately so the machine never had the time to cool down, didn't have to cool down, just kept on working. No flashing "Too Hot", no mis-sealed bags, just simple and PERFECT.If I'd have known this machine was this PERFECT, I'd have got one the day they were released. The only single (barely a) downside is that the sealing time, might be a few seconds longer than some others, but you don't notice it unless you are sealing just a single bag, in which case it's not a big deal. If you're processing like we do in batches, you're too busy filling the next back while it's sealing without you having to hover over it, so it way more than makes up for the few seconds of extra time.If you sous vide with marinade, stop messing around trying to get perfect sealing, don't spend the 10x you need for one of those crazy chamber machines, THIS sealer, right here, is what you've been searching for.If for some reason this machine begins to underperform, I'll update this review, but I have the feeling I won't need to.

Love it! Exceeded my expectations. I like the three options (dry, moist and liquids) providing lots of flexibility depending on what type of food is being packaged. As soon as I get back from grocery shopping, I package the meats and into the freezer they go. This unit makes preserving and freezing so easy. Well worth the price.

This machine does a great job sealing, Especially love the Pulse and gentle button. So important when vacuuming soft things like bread, cookies etc. So worth the money. Easy to use.

Have used FoodSavers for years, the last one I purchased (just before this one) was junk. I had already tossed the packaging so I could not return it. I spent a lot of time reading reviews on the various brands and decided this one appeared to be the best. This time, I saved the packaging in case I needed to return it but it did not disappoint! As someone who does a lot of vacuum sealing/freezing, I can tell you that it’s a good, high quality machine. I highly recommend it! Yes, a bit more money, but well worth it!

I've used Food Savers in the past and they just don't seem to last. I returned the 3rd one I purchased because it stopped sealing in less than 30 days and decided I'd pay more for this one even without reviews. So far I am not disappointed. There are gentle suction and extended vacuuming along with a marinate cycle. I dud not purchase the canister vac, so can't comment on that.I garden so have lots of veggies to freeze including, of course, tomatoes and zucchini. Both are very water heavy. The food saver just can't handle these IMHO. The moisture tray is not deep enough or wide enough. I do like that the tray is removable...it is not on the Seatao, which is a downside. However the tray is a bit further back from the sealer and is deep and wide enough to roll up two half size sheets of Bounty and stuff in the tray. If you try this,do not cover the hole on the left side of the tray. You may also need to manual seal after the initial seal, but you can do it without reclosing the handle that you cannot do with the Food Saver.I LOVE the double seal. The seals around the lower and upper trays remove for easy cleaning. Downside is the lower tray does not.I purchased this unit just over a year ago in August 22. I don't use it all that often. But today completely stopped vacuuming. Supposedly there is a 5-year warranty on this as it is a commercial unit. I've sent you a message but I have no idea how you will respond through Amazon. So I'm posting this here. Please let me know what the next steps are.
