This 100-meter Long-Range IR Barrier Sensor is most useful for special applications where it is desirable to have a generally undetectable perimeter sensor system which will alert you, or for use with some automated system to perform some operation when the beam is broken. Because these two units can be placed up to 100 meters apart, if used at that range they should be used in situations where a very specific area of intrusion is not required. The beam can be broken anyplace between the sensors. Also, the longer the path the more likely it will be broken by animals, etc. There is really no way to avoid this if you are using a simple beam system. So, generally, it is good as a first line of defense to let you know something is there. The shorter-range units, or this one if used at shorter ranges, could be used for driveways, door openers, etc.I found no quality issues. I have had similar systems where I had to glue a lens back into place both after delivery and after use for a while. I am not sure why these kinds of lenses seem to not be secured very well. I had no problems with this one. The sizes of the units was larger than I envisioned. This is not a hidden fact, and didn't affect my instalation. But, be aware, they are not compact. I'd add, with this range the units need to be more powerful and have larger lenses to function correctly. This is a powered system. So, you need to run power to the two units, as well as alarm wires. You could solar power it or connect it to some sort of remote wireless system. But you'd need to design the system accordingly. Since these units can be placed so far apart the wiring becomes more complicated, and sensitivity to lightning should be considered. Long wires develop currents during nearby lighting strikes. So, there are design considerations. The system was easy to wire up, and easy to align, though it did require some finesse. It performed as expected out of the box. I have not had any significant issues with falsing. The aperture of the lenses are sufficiently large that small common creatures like insects and spiders crawling across the lenses don't seem to trigger the system. Also, fog and rain doesn't seem to cause many issues, though some would be expected. The system apparently is not a simple photo-electric switch like you typically see in systems like this. There is some AI used to reduce falsing. That is unlike some of the AI detection on some of my cameras, which often sees such things and creates false alerts, so much so that this can't be automated to trigger a true alarm without human verification. This unit is very competitively priced for what it is and what it is capable of. It is easily worthy of five stars.

Wired up as it should and have green power lights but even right next to each other lens to lens aligned no alarm light goes on suggesting it’s working.

This is the 3rd attempt to find a driveway alarm that works right. This product really fills the bill! The alignment tool is WONDERFUL! It made set-up a snap.

Parece funcionar bien pero no incluye NADA para su instalación no incluye cables, ni transformador de corriente ni una sirena, los diagramas no son simples. Bastante complicado!
