I was writing a review of the Gretsch G5700 for my guitar site and it did not come with a steel, so i ordered a very basic kit. It worked ok but after choosing to buy the instrument, I wanted to see what a professional grade steel slide would make.It made a significant difference! More weight meant more consistent string tone, rounding on both ends make handling easier and a smoother grind on the face makes vibrato sound great. Save money and get your last slide steel first and just buy the Shubb SP2.

This slide is great quality and nice and heavy with a great tone but it is for a larger hand. I find it a little too long.

I do have a more expensive tone bar that I like and will continue to use. But this 5.6 oz. Shubb SP-2 has become my favorite. To me, the additional length and weight improves control, tone and comfort in the hand. Also, having different radiuses at the ends helps with single-note play as well as sliding across the strings without catching. Would I buy it again? I did! My wife tried my SP-2 today during her practice time and was impressed enough to say, "Order one of these for me".Obviously, do your own research - but I doubt you could go wrong with this tone bar.

Very comfortable to use and makes playing easier than the Dunlop Bar I've been using.
