I was looking for this lens used but decided to look on Amazon. For whatever reason a seller on Amazon was having a sale for this lens brand new. So I bought it. Figured if I hate it I can return it. And WOW!!! This lens is amazing! Yeah its huge. Especially for a 28mm lens but it is also regarded as one of the top 3 Sigma Primes ever made (The others 40mm and 105mm) and it absolutely is! This lens is amazing and highly recommended.

Having done my internet research as well as watching YouTube reviews and having been very disappointed with a bad copy of a Samyang 24mm f1.4 lens, I tentatively went for this offering from Sigma. I was after a lens for astrophotography so any old lens will not do because a lens with low coma distortion is needed that produces images with pinpoint stars. The suggestion was that this lens performs better in this respect than the 24mm version, plus it is also weather sealed.This lens is truly amazing and I have no hesitation in recommending it. It really is pinpoint sharp with low coma and it looks like it is going to be perfect for astrophotography after initial tests with my tracker. Unlike the Samyang the weather sealing is great for cold and frosty nights plus it also has autofocus. It works perfectly when adapted onto Canon R series cameras and on the R5 and R6 it will comfortably auto focus on bright stars. I am so pleased I purchased this and am sure it is going to be an important addition to my camera bag.

Hervorragende Abbildungsleistung an meiner 5D Mark 4. Leider sitzt der Fokus bei Blende 1.4 nicht immer zuverlässig, was sich per Dock korrigieren lässr. Zudem vignettiert die Linse offenblendig recht stark (was einige ja auch gern als Stilmittel nutzen). Für mich ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis auf Grund der Bildqualität super. Die mitgelieferte Gegenlichtblende gefällt auch - gerade auf Grund des Sicherungsknopfes zum abnehmen. Nice to have ist ebenso die Gummilippe am Bajonett.
