I use these heat lamps for the winter. I’ve bought 9 of them over the past few years. They work great. All my plants always come out healthy after winter. Just got to be careful it doesn’t rain on them. The light will explode and of course that your sprinklers are off. I Iive in Florida so when the temp drops to 30 for a few days these are wonderful for those tropical plants. I put stakes in the ground and use the clips that are attached to them to hold them up and point it directly at the plant from the bottom looking up.

I purchased for the price being a two pack beat other prices. When putting them together I realized quickly that they are a better design than other lamps I have purchased. I really like the switch! So far, these are great quality!

I love your product and I have ordered it multiple times with no issues, however, the most recent order arrived with no clamps or hooks. Can you send me the missing 2 clamps and hooks?

I have a 250W heat lamp inside. The socket, reflector, an guard all get hot enough to burn you. It would take prolonged contact with the reflector, but you could burn yourself instantly on the guard. So, it's not exactly safe to use with pets that can reach it. I have it suspended above my cat's bed, but she could still reach it and burn herself. I'll jut have to rely on her to not touch something that seems so hot.Interestingly, the socket is rated for 660W and 240V, while the reflector has a label saying 300W/120V (presumably for the unit as a whole). The Amazon post said 250W and didn't specifify voltage. I wouldn't recommend going beyond 250W and 120V. The weak point is probably the cord and inline switch. I've seen such inline switches go bad, they go from switching crisply to being mushy as they die. For now, neither the cord nor switch get hot, so that's a good sign. The guard allows a typical heat lamp bulb to be changed with it in place, but it's not so easy with the view of the socket blocked. You have to go by feel to know when it's properly seated in the socket. It would also allow a curious pet nose to reach the bulb. So, it's of limited use. I suppose if the unit fell from it's perch into a pile of straw, it might prevent direct contact between the bulb and straw, and hence prevent a fire, but no guarantee.I didn't use the clamp and didn't attach the socket to the reflector, the reflector just hangs loosely from it.One thing that could be better, is that the refllectors are wide, but not deep. Most of the bulb sticks out beyond the reflector, and stops just short of the guard.Overall, it seems to get the job done, with some safety features, but there's a limit to what you can do with a bulb that generates so much heat.

Lights appear to be well made. Items arrived undamaged and were easy-enough to assemble. All fixtures and switches have been tested and are working well. I like the handy cord switches the sturdy-looking porcelain bases. Yes, the aluminum reflector portion of these lights can be dented or bent (if average care not taken), but a heavier material would make the lights more difficult to clamp into position and would retain a lot more heat from the warming bulbs. Overall, a good product, especially at this price point.
