This is a cool way to monitor the water level. You could you it for tanks and such. I am using it to monitor the level of water in my sump pit. This would have been easier if I did not have to remove the lid from my radon system to install it. Basically, drill the hole for the sensor and screw the nut on.To do the setup you will need to know how deep it the container you are measuring. How far is the highest the water will get to the sensor. It also helps to know how much water is in the container too.For me, the sensor is 28.75 inches from the bottom and 6 inches from the fullest the water is going to get. My sump comes on at 14 inches and shuts off at 7 inches.I can set the app to alert me, it will alarm for now and high levels. This is a handy thing to have that works with the Smart Life App.

The blue led is blinking, yet my phone can't find the device. Bluetooth on my phone is working perfectly, so the problem is with the device. The manual that came with th device is for the previous version, the 2206. Could not set it up either with Tuya or with HomeApp - neither worked. Returning back to Amazon. Avoid this product, you'll save yourself some time and frustration.

I modified mine a bit to suit my needs. I have an IBC tote which is covered to prevent algae growth, and it sits in the back yard to provide water to the chickens. Installation of the device was simple, I made an adapter for my tote lid and installed a small 5VDC solar panel with internal battery to provide voltage to the device since it's not by a wall outlet. It's connection is great on my IoT network and it is easy to program through Tuya. I have it linked into Amazon and I'm currently setting up an alarm on it for when the water gets too low. It's IP rated so I expect no issues with the device, and it's also under a cover. Sensors like this for industrial applications can run a lot of money, and some of the cheaper ones are real junk. This is a happy medium where it's made to be more user friendly than an industrial one, but still is functional and relatively accurate for personal usage. Well worth it in my book.

This ultrasonic tank monitor feels like a solid, well-built product. It includes a 10-foot waterproof power adapter - the plug itself isn’t waterproof, but the connection point to the monitor is. I’m using it indoors, so I didn’t test the waterproofing. It screws directly into the top of my existing oil tank.It works with two apps: Tuya or SmartLife. These are used across many smart devices, so you can stick with the one you already use, or, I prefer SmartLife (screenshots included.) Setup was quick - I plugged it in, tapped the flashing red button to power it on, then held it for about 5 seconds until it started blinking rapidly. The app instantly found the device and connected it to my wifi (make sure it's a 2.4Ghz network.)The app configuration is straightforward. You set the maximum height of your tank and define alarm thresholds. However, there’s no option to compensate for curved tanks, so if you're trying to monitor a standard oval oil tank, the readings won’t be consistently accurate.I bought this specifically to track my oil tanks via HomeAssistant, which integrates with SmartLife. In HomeAssistant, I was able to adjust for the tank’s curved shape and volume and I have panels showing projected daily usage, estimated days remaining, and current tank volume, etc.If you're using a straight-walled tank, this seems like a good option. But if you have an oval tank, the app will likely be inconsistent for much of the tanks usable range.Overall, this works how I wanted in HomeAssistant. I’m giving it 4 stars because many users will probably rely on the existing apps and may be disappointed when using it with oval oil tanks.
