This has been flawless. My ZigBee network of 24 sensors, switches and plugs has been rock solid ever since switching from the Sonoff 3.0 to this one. I might have just had a bad dongle with the Sonoff but I didn't really care much for the unreliability of the my ZigBee network until I got this one. Now I didn't have any devices drop ever.

Works with zigbee2mqtt software and home assistant, but the device comes with outdated firmware and requires flashing with current firmware to make it work. Easy for a geeky person, but this may be a problem for the average person. After firmware update it works fine with Home Assistant and Zigbee2mqtt.

The answer is yes.To have an idea of what my environment is like, I am running Home Assistant OS on a generic x86/x64 device (think: Intel NUC). I purchased 2 of these SMLIGHT devicese because the developers don't advise you to use "Multipan" firmware on their device (which is supposedly dual functionality - Zigbee/Thread).So I flashed one as Thread and kept the other as Zigbee. Flashing is brain dead simple. Just google it and you'll find out how to do it. Do NOT select Multipan.I connected my Zigbee one first to set it up with ZHA. You can use Zigbee2MQTT with it as well but I don't care for Z2M since ZHA works just fine and is brain dead to setup.Afterwards, I plugged in the other SL7B (flashed as Thread) and followed instructions to set it up as a thread router. You MUST watch this video to achieve setting up the SL7B as a thread router. Look on youtube for this:"The SLZB-06 Just Got Smarter: Introducing Matter-over-Thread!"It's a video tutorial for SLZB-06 but applies to 07 as well.Thanks to all this, I didn't need to get cucked into Aqara's proprietary ecosystem. I can enjoy their devices while only maintaining one box (Home Assistant).
