Hello, I bought the device and there was a simple problem, but I texted the company producing the device and the problem was solved immediately. Honestly, I thank you very much for your communication with me and the solution of the problem. I enjoyed this device to the honesty, and I advise every photographer to acquire this product, expressing art in your pictures and a variety of ideas for the pictures. Thank you, especially and gratitude to Mia for her communication with me.

Digital Foto was nice enough to send me their 100SLENS-MAX for testing and review and asked that I leave a review - positive or negative. What follows are my overall thoughts and opinions on the unit. All said and done, I think this is a great snoot for the price. There is a bit of "you get what you pay for" in play here, but I'll address that in the pros and cons below.THE GOOD:- The build quality is great on this. It feels like it was built to last on productions with its solid parts and construction. It's heavy, but not so heavy that it was dragging down the Amaran 60x that I had it attached to. Obviously use a sandbag on your light stand if possible when you're using it on set.- Magnets. This is a good and a bad thing. Using magnets is a clever and easy way to slot in the cucoloris discs and hold them firmly in place. I saw in one of the other reviews a mention that the gels provided with the unit started to warp, but that's probably because they put the gels in the wrong place in the light. Gels are held in place right at the front of the snoot by a second thin magnetic disc. It's easy to miss but you want to make sure that you use that at the very front of the snoot if you want to use the color gels that come with it.- Focus ring. I've bought more expensive snoots without the ability to defocus the cucoloris patterns, so the fact that this one has a focus ring that can do that is great. You don't always want sharp patterns in the foreground or background of your shot so the ability to soften those edges up so create a texture in your light is very useful.THE NOT AS GOOD:- The instructions. For English speakers who don't know another language, the instructions can be very hard to follow. See the confusion from another reviewer who didn't realize that the front magnetic ring was for the gels. You kind of have to piece together how the whole thing works from the photos in the instructions and the amazon page of the product itself where they have videos. Another example of this is that it took some back and forth with customer service on DF's side to explain that the holder of the discs has to slot in with the side with four magnets facing the back of the snoot. If you use the other magnetic insert and flip it so that the insert with many magnets faces the back of the snoot, then you end up with a very out of focus pattern. Confusing? Exactly. On the other hand...it sharpens your detective skills I guess?- Magnets and tolerances. While good and clever on the one hand, there is also an issue created by the use of magnets in this unit. If you've read the other review, you'll see that they're frustrated because the cucoloris patterns weren't in tack sharp focus. My experience wasn't as bad, but I also couldn't get my patterns tack sharp across the projection. That's because of the magnets pulling the entire metal disc slightly too close to the lens element that it sits in front of. The spacing is slightly off and it throws areas of projection out of focus slightly. There is a workaround to this, but there shouldn't have to be a workaround to it. Here's where "you get what you pay for" applies, as it often does to production equipment. This doesn't bother me as I don't think it's soft enough to really matter in a moving image, but I can imagine this would be frustrating especially for still photographers. All in all though I think this piece of gear is a pretty great buy for those producing video that want additional light options, those on budget that want a solid piece of gear with a few quirks, or those looking to add some easy out of focus texture to their image for a good price. Again, it's solidly built and feels like it should last, and customer service was very helpful through the process of figuring out some of the specifics of the snoot - though they really shouldn't have had to be contacted in the first place. But for the money, it's definitely something that I would recommend to indie producers and gaffers looking for a good cost to value modifier.
