These are good replacement covers for my sourdough starter jar. It's good to have some spares as it's easy for a cloth cover to become soiled. These covers wash up well (I put them in a nylon mesh bag and hung them to dry). The weave on them is loose enough to be breathable, but tight enough to keep the fruit flies at bay. I'm pleased to have these; they're good replacement covers.

This is a review for the SonKu cloth covers for jars.These are pretty basic cotton jar covers. They are elasticated so you don't need a separate tie to keep them in place. I've found they fit well over both standard and large jars. I use large old gherkin jars for making kefir and these covers are perfect to allow air movement while keeping dust and insects out.Some of the stitching could be a little better and it would have been helpful if they had come with washing instructions, but otherwise I'm happy with these covers.

I'm new to sourdough but I'm learning. One of the things I'm learning is that I DEFINITELY want to have a cover like this to keep flies, dust, and other contamination out of Clint Yeastwood. These covers are perfect for that, while still allowing the starter to breathe. The weave of the fabric is, I think, just right to keep everything out, while still giving the starter plenty of opportunity to breathe. I'm using a starter jar with a 4" mouth and these covers fit on there no problem. I also like that this is a multi pack. If I get one dirty when feeding my starter I can just pull out a clean one and carry on. They seem well constructed and I washed them in a delicates bag when I got them and they stood up to the wash no problem. I'll update my review as I get more use out of them, should I encounter anything that warrants it. But if you're in the market for a reasonably priced ($11.99 after coupon at time of review), well constructed cover for your starter, I would certainly recommend this set.

Keeps fruit flies out of my starter. I wish it would stretch to fit wide mouth jars... Four stars!
