The screws were a bit too long for my desk. Did not realize it was going to be an issue until it cracked the top surface. I wish the description had noted the minimum desk thickness, or they had included slightly shorter screws. For reference, my desk is about 9/16" thick. If your desk is at least 1", you'll be fine. If it's less than that, you may need to get your own shorter screws, or add a nut as a buffer as I did (see pics). The cup holder itself seems sturdy and works great.

This cupholder fits really big mugs, I use a plastic mug that we have around the house at my desk, and this thing fits it perfectly and holds its weight no problem. You will need power tools to install it, just any electric drill will work. It goes on with just 2 screws. The headphone stand uses 1. Just make sure your desk isn't less than an inch thick. The screws will go through the top.

I wanted to add a cup holder and hook for headphones to my desk to free up area on the desk and make it look cleaner. I didn't really care for the look of the ones clamp on, and I was really happy to come across these. Cup holder is roomy, and fits my mugs well. My ninja-turtle mug is somewhat tight, so if yours is way oversized, it might not work.I will say they are just plastic, so while I think they'll last a long time used as intended, I don't know how well they would survive accidents (like if a chair were to slam into them). Also, I did use the included screws, however they don't bite particularly well and took quite a bit of force to get started. They're also fairly large (which is good for particle board) so while I did get one started with just a screw driver, I did have to grab my impact driver to finish the job.
