Had the same blade on my bandsaw for years, didn't use it much, but still, it had many many hours of cutting under its belt. I was going to be making a bunch of cuts for something at work so my employer let me order myself some blades on the company card. I bought 3 of these, 14-18TPI for cutting 2.5mm aluminum sheet. I figured I only needed one, and then I would have two spare high quality Starrett branded blades that might last me for the rest of my life given how long the old (Sears? Unknown) branded blade lasted me. NOPE. these blades go about 2-3ft through 2.5mm aluminum sheet before teeth are worn down to nubs and it just melts its way through the from the heat of friction, until not even that works, and then you put the next one on and repeat. Then you put the old tried-&-true rusty blade back on to finish the job properly. I wish I knew where to get blades like my old one.

I purchased this product just a few days ago as I had several pieces of 1/4" thick X 1.5 inches wide mild steel I needed to cut and didn't want to use a hack saw because of a sore shoulder. The blade didn't even make it a 5/16" before it was so dull it wouldn't cut any more. The product's description states, "Bimetal blade is designed for cutting low alloy steel; aluminum; stainless steel; carbon steel; tool, die, and mold steel; steel up to C45 Rockwell hardness; nickel-based alloys; and nonferrous metal." I ended up cutting everything with a hack saw with no problems (I'm right handed and it's my right shoulder that's sore, fortunately I can cut left handed as well). Although my band saw is single speed, as a mechanical engineer, I know how to compensate for feed and speed rates so as not to damage things and it didn't help. I'm returning this one for a replacement and we'll see how that works. If it works as described, I'll revise my review and chalk it up to a defective blade. If not, then my comments stand as is.

Purchased this blade so I could do some small hobby work. Was hoping this could cut 1/4" 1095 steel. Worked great on the first cut and was useless by the second cut. Teeth wore out super fast. Was hoping for a longer life.
