We have a ~4,000 sq ft home with 5 heating and AC zones. Differing heat loads and zoned AC make sense, but it seems like there are too many times when the AC unit will cycle after cooling one zone, and almost immediately start back up to cool another. Meanwhile the system is sized for cooling all of the zones at once. What to do...This little timer fits the Y (typically yellow wire) connection between the zone controller and the rest of the system. I cut that wire and used the two included crimp connectors to let me plug the timer in the middle of that circuit. A patch of double-sided foam tape (also included) mounted the timer in the furnace controls space. A couple minutes total install time. I used a terminal crimping pliers to cut and strip the wire, and install the spade terminals on the prepared ends.It works. I manually cycled one zone off at the thermostat. then back on almost immediately. I have the timer set to about a 5 minute restart-inhibit delay, and it works exactly as expected. High temps are 'only' low 90's today, so the short-cycling may not be as bad as it has been the last six-plus weeks. The Big Test will be seeing if anyone notices the difference inside the house. Goal is to have the unit run a bit longer to multiple zones rather than more short runs to single zones. I'm sure I'll hear about issues, and might have to adjust the timer down if they are serious. Starting at 5 minutes min down time between compressor/condenser runs, might increase that if there are no apparent problems.Summary -- good product, simple and easy to install, low cost. All add up to a good value I think.

Perfect delay for revamping a dead circuit board in a large window a/c unit. Rewired to operate with normal home thermostat. Circuit board was discontinued several years ago. Very cost effective repair.

I needed my sprinkler pump to not come on at the exact same time that the water solenoids open because I was having a problem with a surge in pressure from the pump due to the solenoids, not being completely open when the pump kicked in.Added this to the control circuit for the pump now the pump comes on 10 seconds after the solenoids opens, problem solved.
