I have been a big fan of microfiber bed linens since I discovered them about four years ago. They are softer than cotton, I love they are never cold when I slip into bed during the winter season, and they never shrink in the washer/dryer, and therefore they always retain their shape.The Smart Sheets come as a 4-piece set, one fitted bottom sheet, a top sheet, and 2 pillowcases which have side openings. The unique feature and different from the regular bed linens are the 2-sets of side pockets on the bottom fitted sheet, and located at the head part of the bed on both sides.The bottom fitted microfiber sheet will stretch down to fit over 14” - which is the side length of my mattress with the foam topper above. On each side of the bed, the microfiber bottom sheet has two adjoining side pockets. The larger one is 6” across and 8” deep and this accommodates my paperback book, along with my reading glasses tucked in on the side. The smaller pocket measures about 4 ½” and is also 8” deep, and this space has the capacity for my large bottle of water (23.7 fl. oz. or 1 pint and 7.7 oz. = 700 ml).The pillowcases fit my oversized shredded memory foam pillow, which is 18” x 30” with a 40” diameter. This was a pleasant surprise, because this is an unusually a high and lofty pillow that does not always fit a queen size pillowcase.Although we have night tables on both sides of the bed, there is a lot of stuff that clutters up the space. On one side was a table lamp, the house landline telephone, a room humidifier, a box of tissues, the TV remote, along with other personal belongings. On the other nightstand were another lamp, a clock radio, an aromatherapy diffuser, a jar of hand cream, and some other items that cannot fit into the small skinny drawer in the night stand table. Therefore all other additional things such as my book and my large bottle of water usually ended up on the floor by the bed. .The side pockets on the bottom fitted sheet offer a ‘reachable’ and convenient storage area, which reduces clutter on our bedside tables. On each side of the bed, the microfiber bottom sheet has two adjoining side pockets and the larger one is 6” across and 8” deep. This accommodates my paperback books, along with my reading glasses tucked in on the side. The smaller pocket measures about 4 ½” and is also 8” deep, and this accommodates my large bottle of water (23.7 fl. oz. or 1 pint and 7.7 oz. = 700 ml).On the other side the pockets now contain the house phone, the TV remote, and tissues for my husband’s allergies. In addition, the pockets contain some of his other personal items, previously piled on the table and which would often fall off, and scatter on the floor.I love these smart sheets as they are soft on my skin, and they fit my oversized mattress which also includes a 4 ½” foam bed topper. The side pockets are located on the top sides on both sides of the bed, and offer a ‘reachable’ and convenient storage area, which reduces the clutter on our bedside tables.I originally ordered the cream color set which is similar to creamy beige. However, I have since re-ordered a second set in the sage color, for when these cream linens are in the wash.Currently, I have washed these microfiber sheets twice in the wash, per the instructions – cold water, gentle cycle and tumble dry on low. They came out perfectly, and they remain very soft and without any shrinkage.
