Wow! Finally a mouthpiece that is classically precise, and prosodically flexible. I have played for over sixty years and feel reinvigorated and happy to have found this mouthpiece. In over fifty years of teaching and performing this is the finest mouthpiece I have ever encountered.William Fiege

A great mouthpiece for even my beginner self. Nice sleek design and it pairs well with my own ligature.

Alright, let's talk about this alto saxophone mouthpiece. First off, it's got a surprisingly sleek and modern design, which is a nice change from the usual traditional look. The anthracite gray finish gives it a professional, sophisticated vibe—it's like the mouthpiece equivalent of a fancy suit. Keep in mind that I'm still a beginner player that dabbles in the saxophone and other instruments. I am by no means a professional. The Good Stuff:Versatility: The 7 tip opening is great because it works with a wide range of reeds. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, you'll likely find a reed that fits your style.Easy to Use: This mouthpiece is a breeze to adjust and stays put once you've got it in place. No more fiddling around mid-performance—hallelujah!Sound Quality: The sound is fantastic—flexible, rich, and full-bodied. It's like giving your sax a vocal upgrade, making it both warm and clear. The Not-So-Good Stuff:Price: Let's address the elephant in the room—this thing is pricey. If you're a beginner or on a tight budget, it might be a tough sell. But hey, quality comes at a cost, right?Looks: While I love the modern design, it might not be everyone's cup of tea. If you're a traditionalist, you might find yourself longing for the classic look.

I picked this up for my husband, a jazz clinician and music educator with over 30 years of experience. As a saxophone major with a French horn minor, he plays a wide range of instruments, thanks to what he calls a “rubber embouchure”—making it easier for him to switch between woodwinds and brass. His mouthpiece collection is extensive, including brands like Theo Wanne, Otto Link, and JodyJazz. Even with all that, this mouthpiece genuinely impressed him.His words: "The full-bodied tone and responsive playability stood out immediately, and it performs beautifully across all ranges."It’s now in his regular rotation, and he’d recommend it to players seeking quality, versatility, and solid performance at a reasonable price. My Star Scale:5 Stars: Must-have—add to cart immediately!4 Stars: Get it—without regret!3 Stars: Add to list—think it over.2 Stars: Has potential—comes with issues.1 Star: Nope—hard pass

Syos knows how to make mouthpieces that produce rich and vibrant times. The Steady 7 pairs nicely with my Yamaha 62 alto. Its sound quality is rich and fills the room. It’s comfortable to play and it is made well like all other Syos mouthpieces. If you are looking to find your saxophone voice, try out a Syos. You won’t be disappointed. The price is on par with Syos store prices and as well as its manufacturer quality.
