It’s miniature flimsy and completely unsuitable for securing a gps costing hundreds of dollars.

This is great to tie it to my Garmin 1030 edge plus bike computer and wrap it around the handle bars. That way it does not fall off the bracket and it gets damaged if I did not have this strap.

TAKEWELL Tether (Replacement) for Garmin Edge: It works perfectly well for the Garmin eTrex 32x which inexplicably didn't come with a strap. It's a common-sense low-cost investment to protect my GPS from being dropped during hikes & geocaching. Very highly recommended for this purpose.
