I like others have a problem with the small blade to open and it is hard to slide the blade out,

This thing is junk. Out of the package it slid smoothly out on one end but I could not get it to come out the other end for several minutes and when I did finally manage it, it nearly stabbed me. When retracting the difficult side, it slid so quickly in the other direction it almost stabbed me again! As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a design flaw. There are other retractable options that are far safer in many aspects. SKIP THIS ONE. It’s garbage!

Exactly as described I got one for me and one as a gift. Pulls the sharp thread rippers inside so no sharp edges when reaching for it. No other works as well. It’s comfortable to use. And hand removed all of the seams from my sleep pants. Side note: why women’s sleep pants have elastic at the bottom I will never understand. Arrived as expected but I had used my sister’s so I knew what I was getting and bought her a new one and me one. Love it

I am a sewing Instructor and I can go through many seam rippers with my students. Most importantly for me is safety. I love the idea of retractable. I put my ripper in my apron pocket along with other tools of the trade. When I reach for items in my pocket I do my best not to poke myself. With this retractable seam ripper this will help A LOT! As for the sharpness and how long it last....? Only time will tell. I will give another review once I try it for awhile. Overall. I give this a thumbs up.
