Unless you need multiple simultaneous loops/phrases or some special features this really is the perfect looper. I've had half a dozen loopers including big fancy ones and I finally came back to the ditto. This new one really takes everything that was good about the old one and just makes it a bit better. I love it.

It works as well as any other looper I’ve tried. I really wanted to try this for the “extended looping mode” which allows you to record one loop and then overdub while that original loop actually multiplies and repeats below it to a new length! The pedal uses the original loop as it’s measuring tool so it automatically ends at the end of the bar and is not quantized to an internal metronome. So if you record one bar of that original loop of percussion, you can overdub with guitar and record a full 4-bar chord progression over it.The only issue is they don’t tell you HOW. Still no manual online or included, just a basic quick start how to leaflet.I had to look it up and finally found my answer on YouTube so I figured I’d just explain it here in written form.If you press the two side arrow buttons, it will pull up a screen to adjust the volume of a backing track.**If you press and HOLD both side buttons you get a different page for extended loop mode being on or off. **Select ON and then you’re in business.Fun fact: if you hold the right button when turning it on, you can play PONG on the screen with just the volume knob as your paddle control. You can still overdub to your heart’s content in extended loop mode, but I think you can only extend the loop once. You can’t do it infinitely and re-adjust your loop length again and again. It’s still a rad trick that makes it seem like you have two loopers to mess with at the start.IMPORTANT: the footswitch behaves differently for your overdubbing on the extended loop. Once you are extending, it treats your ending foot tap like a suggestion, not a specific end point. You need to tap EARLY to let the pedal know to close the loop at the end of the next bar. If you aim for the downbeat, you will likely be late. Also because of this it doesn’t cut off your overdub when you hit it. It does it at the end of the bar.For all the subsequent overdubs it works like normal, but it just works different during the extending phase.Obviously you can pre-load tracks and store them in 99 slots, but this review was just meant to explain the extended looping mode since it took me a while to figure it out.Press and hold arrows, select on, have fun!
