This HP lit keyboard is a God sent to me. I have Macular in my left eye and it was getting harder for me to see the keys. This keyboard is absolutely perfect. I just plugged it in and it was ready to use. I have an HP computer and printer so maybe that is why I did not have to go through certain steps to connect it to my computer. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a lit keyboard.

It is nice backlit keyboard. I would give five stars if I was able to find manual or instruction how to change the default brightness and to use the the programable keys. There is no manual in the box and no electronic version on the HP internet site.

At first I wasn't sure I was going to like this keyboard based on other reviews and being that HP took a full size keyboard and condensed the layout down some. It was a little weird for me at first, but in the end, this keyboard is now my favorite keyboard to work on, and I'm surprised other keyboard manufacturers haven't tried something similar with the way these keys are layed out. I love this keyboard for it's size. I am able to carry a full size keyboard in my laptop bag and receive all of the benefits of having a a full keyboard and a number pad. I was not able to do that with a regular full size keyboard before. I am very happy that this keyboard includes a lock button on it (the F11) key. It makes locking my laptop a simple key press away which is sometimes crucial when people sneak up on me and I don't want them seeing my work. I find that not all keyboards have this lock key on them, so it is an added value to me to have that. I like the lighting on this keyboard. Not only do the numbers and letters light up, but you can see light all around the keys. To me it's an elegant, but also very functional appearance. By functional I mean you won't have any problems at all seeing the keys when you need to. It has 3 brightness settings, so it can work well in just about any lighting environment. I work in a dimly lit area, so I can get away with having the keyboard on the lowest light setting. I find this keyboard easy and comfortable to type on. I am not a professional typist. I can type well and pretty fast when I'm just typing whatever I want to type out, but if I'm trying to look at text that I need to type on my screen, I have to go much slower. Either way, I rarely ever find any issues with typing correctly on this keyboard. So I guess that means all of the keys are in the correct place, and are at full size even though the whole layout has been squeezed down some. It looks like they took out the space for arrow keys on normal keyboards and shifted the arrow keys down a little bit, and then moved the number pad over some to make the layout smaller. I already know that I will be buying several more of this exact keyboard model for all of my work stations because I put it back in my wish list. I highly recommend this keyboard to anyone looking for a full size keyboard that has a smaller footprint for travel, or just general use purposes.

Good affordable option. Works as expected. Compactness has pros and cons but more pros for me. One small tactile issue for me is that my last backlit (editor/post production) keyboard (Astra-Logitech) has slightly rounded keys and a lower travel length for the key. I have to get used to the feel after years of habit. For the price point and dimming options, this keyboard is well worth it. Cannot speak to longevity or durability yet. I appreciate the more slightly condensed layout while still being "full sized" for the amount of buttons.
