The photo and online description indicates plus/minus 30ua. But the meter and "user manual" indicate the meter to be plus/minus 300 micro amps. I tested it with a digital micrometer and it was indeed off by a factor of 10. I'm returning it.

I upgraded it with parts I had in stock.I replaced the fake banana jacksI replaced the 3rd connection with a switch that has 3 resistors in parallel (100, 100, 150) that I shunt for x100 readingsI made a laser engraved plate for labeling

I needed a good meter to test the thermocouple on my pellet stove, this meter fits the bill. First, I wanted to test the accuracy of it. I set up a test scenario with one volt, actually 1.0007 volts, next, I found a very close tolerance 10k resistor, actually a 10.020K resistor. Remember I’m shooting for accuracy. Ohm’s law says Current through a circuit equals voltage over resistance, so I plugged in the numbers,1.0007 volts divided by 10020 ohms. This says I’m drawing 99.87 microamps. The Galvanometer is plus/minus 300 microamps so the meter should land right on, or close to the ‘10’ on the face.The meter is actually a “-300-0-300” movement but it’s labeled “-30-0-30”, just understand what it means. You can see the meter pointer is spot on even after I reversed the polarity of the setup. I know it looks a bit off, but that was due to a parallax error. Believe me, it was VERY close. The main thing about Thermocouples is, you mainly need to test if they work, meaning, do they create a voltage when heated? You rarely need an accurate voltage reading. The problem with regular volt-ohm-meters is, they usually only read down into millivolts, and thermocouples only output voltage in the microvolt region.So now I’ve got a great Galvanometer to test my thermocouples. The meter is not made from many vintage Bakelite meters, it is plastic but it seems built pretty well. The main thing is, you’ll never beat the price for this sort of accuracy. I’m very happy with it~!~Check out my photos, if you look closely the calculator reads .0001 Amp, but if you look at the bottom line it says, 9.9870259481038E-5, this is notation and if you do the decimal magic, it means 99.87 microamps (rounded of course). Also, I set the voltage at one volt, then I measured it with a very accurate standard meter. Then I took an accurate resistance reading of my 10k resistor, it read 10020 ohms.So, there it is… get one while their available, and you can beat it for the money.

After using and testing the item I found out that the item is not as accurate as the website claims, I needed more info all for the item. the manual was in Chinese language there is no manual in English to download or a link to English ManualJoe
