Why only 4 stars? I don't love that the start and stop control is done with the setting dials. I wish there was a separate obvious button for it. Both of the dials can be used but it is just not intuitive. It could also be a little brighter (even at full brightness).I like how easy it is to configure and get started. the dials for the hours, minutes and seconds work fine. There are two modes for hours/min or mins/secs. (Mode button determines this and shows on screen)Kick stand for a desk or countertop and magnetic mount with a no scratch pad.The coolest thing about this is the unique percentage countdown ring.Comes with a stubby USB C charge cable.I like it.It also does count up and shows a little up pointing triangle when doing that. There is a down triangle for countdown. There are two levels of beeping or mute determined by one button that cycles through and displays the setting onscreen. The brightness button does the same but it really could use a brighter level or two.

Visual Timer (Purple and Red):This timer is designed to be used by children, but I will be honest: I am an adult, and I bought it for myself. I tend to lose track of time, and can also become easily distracted, so I find gadgets like this helpful for keeping me productive and on track. The timer is rechargeable using a USB cord (which is included), and therefore, does not use standard batteries. The charging process took ~5 hours.I really like the way the timer shows you how much time is remaining—both visually by the bright red color, and also by percentage numbers that are displayed on its face. Conceptually, this is a great design. What I didn’t love about the timer is that I found the features to be clunky, counter-intuitive, and not very user-friendly. I often find myself needing to refer back to the manual to refresh my memory about which button and dial does what, and it seems to me that operating a simple device like a timer should not be this complicated—especially one that is designed to be used by children. That being said, I still really like the timer, use it regularly, and would buy it again.

Title says it all. This is classic Chinese junk.(1) It's overpriced. You get get a less visually fancy timer with all the functionality you need for $5, this is $16. The only thing special about it is the fancy visual countdown bar.(2) It won't hold a charge. I tried charging it before use, and it was charging for hours, never got full. I used it a couple of times, then switched back to my other timer which is easier to use, and now it won't hold a charge at all (just a couple of weeks later). It still lights up when you plug it in, but won't turn on once you unplug.

This was purchased for use with kids. Mainly to use with a child who struggles with understanding stopping a preferred activity, or sometimes on the other hand they will ask hundreds of times in a row "How long until...?" We have used a visual timer similar to this but with a mechanical display, but that one eventually stopped working right so we replaced it with this one. This has several unique properties:1. The ring is the percentage of the original time instead of 1 ring = 1 hour like the mechanical kind. This can be good for expressing the information of how much time is left relative to the original time. On the other hand that means the ring doesn't move at a predictable time.2. The digital number display gives a precise reading, this is useful for when you check it, near the end especially. On a mechanical timer, anything from 90 seconds to 0 seconds is basically 1mm of movement, whereas with this you can tell the difference between saying "You have 1 minute left" and "The timer's about to go off."If I could change one thing, it would be:The pushing in of the setting wheel to start the timer is not my favorite. It makes it less usable by a kid who isn't very dextrous. A push that isn't dead center will just rotate the wheel. This could have just been a normal button and would have made the product better.

It does what it says it does, however starting and stoping the timer is awkward and results in changing the timer settings.
