I enjoy this cast iron teapot very much. I heat hot water in my electric pot and then pour it into this teapot (I do pre-heat this teapot by putting hot water into it for a few minutes). It comes with a nice sized mesh basket for loose tea leaves - gently pour the hot water into the pink teapot and brew for the recommended number of minutes!.I haven’t experienced any rusting or chipping. I do gently rinse and hand-wash after using the teapot and dry with a cotton kitchen towel.

First thing I do when I get home from work is put fresh tea leaves into the basket and add hot water. I then relax for the evening with my amazing tea. I love the color (pink) and the shape is beautiful! I have gotten many compliments on it.

I like my teapot. But it came with a paint chip, although small. For me it is very noticeable. As I’m delivering a baby in two weeks it is a hassle for me to get a exchange. But I might still get a exchange. Anyhow this is going to be my teapot to go with my royal Albert tea cup!Update: The second time I used it I found rust spots both on the pot and the tea basket! Did I get a defective one or is it quality problem? Definitely returning.Update of the replacement: Got the replacement pretty quickly. It again came with some coating chips and worsely a big scratch inside the pot, which can lead to rust easily. This pot obviously has some quality control problems. The bad thing is I still want the pink pot to go with my pink tea set and now it’s out of stock!

This was a cute little teapot. It could have gotten a five star review from me, but it arrived incomplete and broken. The infuser was missing, as were the care instructions that should have been with it. The handle was detached and the metal was so stiff that it could not be put back on without damaging the exterior of it. I am not sure if there was supposed to be, but there was no protective packaging inside the box as I would have expected and the teapot looked thrown into it rather than carefully and consciously placed. With all that and the condition of the box itself, I think this was someone's returned merchandise that was not inspected properly before sending it out to another buyer.I must stress that this review is only about the product and my own experience. I would five stars to the seller who was quick to address my issue when I contacted them and gave me an immediate refund.
