I can't bring myself to take a chair along with me on backpacking trips. They make some pretty light backpacking chairs these days but more than a pound for a chair vs 2 oz for the Z-pad. I choose sit on a rock with the Z-pad or on my bear canister with the Z-pad on top rather than adding a pound to my base weight. In fact, the main reason I bought the Z-pad is that I will be hiking the JMT this summer and bear canisters are required. They make an OK stool for cooking, expecialy with a little bit of padding provided by the Z-pad. Another good use I have found for the Z-pad is bringing it with me on winter hikes. I can sit down on the snowy ground and not freeze my buns or get wet from the snow. The item folds up nicely and has its own latch to keep it folded while in your pack. I leave it in one of the pockets on the outside of the pack so I have easy access when I feel like taking a break. I would recommend this product to anyone who hikes a lot.

Die Sitzmatte ist sehr leicht und kompakt. Sie wurde beim Wandern auf Herz und Nieren als Sitzunterlagen auf verschiedenem Untergrund getestet: Waldboden mit Ästen, Felsen mit Steine, Wiese, Sandiger Untergrund, Schlammiger Untergrund bei Regen. Die Matte hält was Sie verspricht nämlich ein angenehmer Sitzkomfort. Ich würde Sie jederzeit wieder kaufen.

Muy cómodo para sentarse en la zona de escalada y ponerse los zapatos u observar mientras descansas, también sirve dentro de la casa de campana ya sea que andes sentado o de rodillas acomodando cosas.

Es un pedazo de Therm-a-rest, pero cumple bien su función, acojina y aísla en cualquier superficie, lisa,. rugosa, caliente o fría. Siempre va en la mochila, ocupa poco espacio y prácticamente no pesa. Muy recomendable.

que no pesoa y lo use para senderismo montaña y playa te ayuda a no mojarte el trasero cuando descansas en el bosque y en la playa lo caliente de la arena

I purchased a cheap foam sit mat last year (2016) for £2 because i thought it would do the same job but i doesn't even come close the z seat. The z seat is in a different league to the cheap mats. You might think to yourself that you would rather save money and go cheap but I'd go for the z seat people, honestly it's a fantastic little mat thats very comfortable, warm and as it's made by therma-rest you know it's going to be very well made as you will see if you buy one. At the end of the evening on a wild camp i put my z seat under my dogs blanket for some extra comfort and protection from the cold ground. BIG THUMBS UP FROM ME 👍👍. Oh and i didn't think the price was to bad either and free postage is always nice.

I was looking for a lightweight pad for my high country hunts in Colorado for a long time. I carried a thick foam pad for a long time, but that just wasn't working. When I found this pad, I hoped that my search was over. It was! This pad fits the bill perfectly. It is super lightweight (only weighs about 2 ounces) and it folds up very compactly. It doesn't stay folded up by itself so I usually throw a rubber band or one of my wife's hair ties around it. I drop it into my pack and don't even realize it is there until I need it. For something so thin, it is extremely comfortable. I can sit on a rock or a log for an extended period of time while glassing and it keeps my back side relatively comfortable. It also provides a clean surface to sit or kneel on in camp and it is a handy way to change your boots without getting your socks dirty. I like the high visibility of the yellow/silver in case I get up and move around - I doesn't blend in with the ground. I have also used it as a pillow! Overall, this is a great product and one that I always have with me in the field.
