I applaud the quality craftsmanship, hand-made ingenuity, and Old World design of this Thot Ra leather cover for 3.5” x 5.5” (standard) field journals. But I’m more impressed by the story that is included in the package: there is a personal note from the leather craftsman who made my cover. The covers are hand made, Hecho en Mexico (made in Mexico), and a stamp bearing the “Made in Mexico” is emblazoned on the letter, along with the signature of the individual who made it. In English, French AND Spanish, it states “handcrafted by . . .” One impressive product!Of course, all the handmade quality would mean nothing if the cover was not functional, but IT IS. In fact, though I have 6 other journal covers (some for top spiral-bound pads, and the others similar to this one), this is the best I have seen. The cover is made of quality, and genuine, leather. That letter that accompanies the cover states that there will be a difference in each cover due to the nature of the material. And they will also age differently. Each one unique!The cover on the inside has a pen loop that will hold a variety of sizes in writing instruments, and when you close the cover, it is designed to close even with a large marker or pen, and not “pinch up” when the journal is closed. It also includes a “closer”, a smaller leather piece with leather cord, and an adjustable grommet that secures the cover (shut when you want it shut and secure). An (almost) hidden ribbon bookmark is sewed into the inside of the pocket that houses the back of your journal. I had to search to find this bookmark, and now it’s one of my favorite features of the journal. An elastic strap, also sewed in, will secure the front cover when you want it closed.In the promotional material for this cover there is NO mention of a surprise gift, and I’m not even sure if everyone gets one, but my package arrived with a small snap-closure coin pouch, made of the same quality leather. Nice touch!

This was a great find! The cover is made of a solid piece of leather, rather than a thin coat. It fits my passport well and allows space for a few cards/cash without being bulky. The leather is a far greater quality than I expected.

Llego rápido, se siente de muy buena calidad, en cuanto abres el paquete ya te da el olor a cuero, huele muchísimo (no es queja), quedó muy bien con mi libretita de bolsillo y tiene espacios para tarjetas u otros papelitos que quieras tener a la mano con tu libreta, se siente muy bueno el material, espero dure

I can't believe the price as the workmanship of this notebook cover is amazing. This leather Notebook cover is way better than I expected. I can't wait for it to age as I have my Bible cover in the same green. It fits all my cards and money. I now use it as my wallet. It also smells amazing!!!

Tal cual como se muestra en la imágenes , muy lindo el detalle de agregar una carta del artesano.Cabe perfectamente una libreta de notas pequeña, el bolígrafo y para los viajeros hasta el pasaporte.Otro detalle que me agrado, fue la pequeña bolsita adicional.Lo volvería a comprar , lo recomiendo ampliamente.

I’ve never left a review for anything before, but this journal cover totally deserves one! I was skeptical of the reviews raving about the quality but now that it’s in my hands I can confirm that they were all true. It feels and smells soooo nice! I can’t wait to see it age as time goes. I’m so happy with the purchase I’m buying a few more as gifts.
