I had the older thermostat version and the screws from the electrical box didn’t line up. It’s more secure now with the addition of the wall plate.

The product fits my T5 smart thermostat. The mounting holes fits with the existing holes of the old thermostat so no drilling needed. Installation was done in about 15 minutes. I think the material is solid and fits well on the wall.

If you have a larger t-stat on your wall and/or an electrical wall box this will make installing a Honeywell T5 or T6 smart thermostat a breeze. It comes with an electrical box adapter and the large wall plate to cover everything nicely which saved me painting.

If we wanted to do this the way the install intended on the T9 thermostat, we would have to patch the wall, paint, etc. This plate perfectly fit the existing holes and covered the area that was unpainted with the previous thermostat. The original thermostat was not level. The play in this kit was perfect to level the display. It looks like we paid a professional to do this install but this kit was relatively inexpensive. I strongly recommend this for any Honeywell T9 thermostat install.
