So there's no such thing as perfection when it comes to emergency shelter items. They're either impossibly small like the space blankets but yet very limited, or they're pretty bulky like this tent and offer a lot more but again, they're bulky and a little bit heavy - not something you're gonna backpack with.Motorcycle bicycle horse, ATV camping absolutely.

I looked at a few of these emergency tents as I like go on day hikes and wanted one for insurance. This was the only one with metal grommets and pegs so you can actually secure it to the ground properly. I image the other ones (which you use stuff to weigh down the corners) would flap around like crazy in a decent breeze.I haven’t used it yet but the mylar looks like it’ll stand up to the job. I’ll get another for my truck.

These can be used as a prep for staying warm in a power outage. Set up in the house and sleep inside. It will reflect your body heat keeping you warmer. It can also be used as a portable shelter in an emergency, weighing almost nothing and taking up very little space.

I did not open this completely since it looks like this would be the sort of thing that you can't put back into the included storage bag once opened. It has all the components needed though. This is very basic. It's not going to look like a normal camping tent. Keep in mind, to set this up, you need to tie a rope between two trees and affix the tent to the rope. So if you're in an area without two trees at a distance that the rope will reach, you have no tent. All in all, it should keep you out of the rain, but I would imagine any kind of wind, even with the included ground pegs, will blow this around like crazy. For what it is, it's okay. I would recommend it for last resort, emergency camping - not something for a weekend in the woods.
