Pictures on the product page did not prepare me on how small this thing is.The threaded stud was all the way in the handle and did not connect to the head. I dont mind that too much but be prepared to tinker before use.

I had my doubts, but figured I would try it for 4$. The package is straight from China. But It worked perfectly and brought back an old (30+ yrs) grinding wheel! The wheel was not that bad, but it wasn’t straight or flat. Within 30 seconds it was back to feeling new!I would buy it again and I liked this kind over the other versions with diamonds glued to a piece of metal. This one seemed like it would give more of a square edge with less groves- and if did! Plus I still have many more uses leftI used this outside since it does create a lot of dust…

So first, to fill in the information that the product description lacks. This tool is made by another random Chinese company whose name seems to be a random combination of letters. It certainly isn't a Chinese word. Their lathes seem well reviewed in those fake review sites. The head of the tool is a reddish-brown material (not gray as in the photo), about 1 3/16" long, 1/2" wide and 1/4" thick, affixed somehow to a slightly thicker piece of what looks mild steel, which is tapped (shallowly) to accept a handle 4" long and 3/8" wide. The reddish-brown material is something of a puzzle; it is strongly magnetic, but it is soft enough to not clog up grinding wheels. It has sharp edges on top, as if it were poured into an open-top mold and hardened. But it contains small diamond chips scattered through it that do the cutting. So it works, at least on my brother's Dremel grindstones. One was nearly completely clogged with aluminum, and holding this tool gently to the stone while it was turning took off the aluminum quickly. It did make the stone somewhat smaller, but that's to be expected, especially on such a small stone. But the handle is short and narrow. I can't really get all four fingers on it without shoving my fingers close to the head, which I don't want to do, especially when I'm cleaning bench grinder stones. The handle is knurled in two parts, but the knurling is shallow and not very sharp. It doesn't improve your grip much. The threaded portion that screws into the head is only 1/8" long. And the head showed some wear, even on those little grindstones. We skated the stone across the dresser head to make the wear even. True, some wear was necessary to expose the diamonds embedded in the head material. But no telling how long this tool will last. And the reddish-brown material in the head that contains the diamond bits might just be glued to the mild steel backing. Will the glue release when the head gets hot? Who knows? But it's cheap, and it might be more durable than those wheel dressers that are just diamond chips brazed to some square steel tubing.
