Good quality, stainless steel, looks like is made from a mold and then is machined for the thread. Which in a way is good, avoiding soldering and finish issues.It would be better if the thread was a little longer, but I guess this is more intended for surface mounting. In my case I have a piece of wood in front of the metal where I have the m8 nuts, so its too short. But I just craved a bigger hole so these fit directly on surface of the metal

These M8 eye bolts have a beautiful finish, with smooth threads. Flawless fit with M8 nuts. I used these eye bolts to hang a 30 pound stain glass display indoors with confidence. Eyes do not distort under the load.Bolts are marked as "304" stainless steel. (Vine review)
