We bought this set over 10 years ago and it still looks and cooks good as new! I was going through past orders and was shocked to see how long ago we bought them!

Very disappointed. We ordered this less than two months ago and it is peeling already. The pot is plenty heavy and loved the strainer that locks in place but we will have to throw it away soon.

I needed a small stockpot and this one is perfect. It’s a huge improvement on my previous (larger) one by Calphalon, which is also stainless steel. I’ve struggled to adjust to the glass cooktop in my new home. My old pot took a long time to boil water and would stop boiling when I added noodles, etc. I had to put the lid back on and it still took 3-4 minutes to get back to a rolling boil. I don’t have that issue with this pot at all. The attachable strainer is just a bonus. It’s a very smart design. I have a skillet by this brand as well, and I am quickly becoming a fan. As I replace pots and pans in the future, I will look to Tramatoria.

This was to replace an old version of the same company's pot (left empty on a high heat burner and finally died after 15 years or so).I was looking originally at what appeared to be the same pot (same company, etc)- but it had a metal top (this has glass) and was taller (wouldn't fit under my top oven above the burners). I looked in some of my kitchen catalogs and online and the metal top one appears to be a lesser weight (quality) pot but was significantly cheaper. So I found the model number of my old pot and it matches this one. Since my old pot would have gone on easily for another 15 years (except for my error)- I only wanted the same model. The only differences I can see between the old & new.... is this new one's glass top is a slight bit heavier and fits the pot a bit better (wider lip goes a hair farther into the pot). Also, the handles (all of them) have been redesigned with a bit of flatness to them, instead of same width roundness. It makes them more comfortable to hold & use.Lastly, the new steamer has 2 nice handles on it- the old had this stupid thin metal swing bar that folded down into the steamer basket-hard to fish out to remove the basket.So..... good redesigns all around. This was made in China- doesn't bother me.... obviously Tramontina kept their quality control (at least for this pot)It's a GREAT pot, the weight of it, cooks like a dream. If the only thing you'll be using it for is to cook pasta or steam veggies- Tramontina's metal topped one, (looks the same from the pictures on Amazon-read the specification descriptions to see the differences) at less than half the price, would be the better choice. But if you use the bottom pot as a stockpot, stew maker, chicken or roast browner (high sides keep the splatter contained), etc., then you will appreciate the even heating and very sturdy construction of this pot. I even use it (with a round cake cooling rack on the bottom) to process half pint jam jars.Did I appreciate paying more than 3 times what I paid for the same pot 15 years ago??? OF COURSE NOT.But if it lasts me another 15-20 years.....

I LOVE THIS COOKER ... I purchased this pot in a larger size (8 qt) and have used it for quite a few years. When I discovered it on Amazon in a smaller size, I first wrote to the merchant to verify that it was truly 6 qt, then snapped it up I love being able to drain potatoes for mashing and draining steamed vegetables without being burned and without having to resort to the use of a third item such as a colander for draining so less mess and dishes to wash. The quality is high. It's a heavy stainless steel with all information per size and mfg. stamped on the underside. The drainer slips into the specially designed notches then twists easily to a no fall off position. The lid is improved over my older 8 quart but both will vapor seal at the boil point. These Tramontina cookers are the best designed pots I've ever purchased and used. I can't say enough to encourage its purchase if you are in the market for all around fine quality and performance.
