The PHITUODA 2.5" to 3.5" SSD HDD Hard Disk Drive Bay Adapter is for mounting a 2.5-inch drive into a 3.5-inch bay. It will not hold a 3.5-inch drive. See pictures. I saw several bad reviews from users who attempted to force a 3.5-inch drive into the adaptor.

The bay holder fit the SSD perfectly. My Dell computer had bay slides. These also fit perfectly. However when the SSD was slid into the very small bay, the SSD electrical connections were 1.5 inches inside the bay and my computer cables had 90 degree connections and would not fit. I had to use power and data cables that had straight in fittings. Drilling new holes in the adapter would help some but the cables would still need to have straight in plugs and may need to be connected before installing the SSD because you might not be able to plug them in with very little space to work. Anyways... it works so far.

Delivered yesterday in the Amazon plastic white and blue Prime envelope. Inside was a large clear plastic zip bag that contains a screwdriver and 2 smaller clear plastic zip bags, each with one black bracket and a bag of 8 silvery screws. It does the job. The reason to remove a star is due to 2 minor issues. One of the brackets was bent in the middle in 2 places which would make it not usable or fit as such. Not sure if the bends were due to poor manufacturing or due to mishandling while in storage or during shipping (I favor the latter). The material is some sort of thinner black coated/painted metal (? Aluminum or zinc/tin alloy). It is obviously some cheap material, and definitely not steel, but not plastic either. That is the bad news. The good news is it was cheap material and was easy to fix and manually unbend on a flat surface without extra tools. With the cheap price and the fact that I needed to use it, I chose not to return it. The second bracket seems fine and level. The second minor issue are the screws provided. I believe they are a little big for the holes. Other reviews mention that. Fortunately, I have plenty of assorted computer hardware screws from prior builds. I used the ones from the prior 2.5" SSD to anchor the drive. The screws provided needed some slight extra force to secure the bracket in the 3.5" bay, though no drilling was necessary like someone mentioned. I used only 2 of the provided screws on one side of the bay, as the other side has a screwless locking latch. In summary yes, they do the job intended, though not the best. The price was low enough, and the 2 issues were minor, not to warrant returning. Would I buy it again? Probably not. If you want to aim for hassle free perfection and don't mind spending a little more, then look elsewhere. Thank you.

I loved the fact that the holes were big enough without boring them out to work in a Dell carrier. The other brands I've used all needing reaming to get them to work in the holders. These are very solid and work great.
