If you have a yard or venue, and you want to extend a Wifi's range to cover it, repeaters could be an option if you have power or Access Points.However, if you are like me, and so many others, and want to cover the most range from a central location, this is the way to do it.I set one up for my brother, and it covers a very large yard all the way down to his river 350-400meters easy, and it covers most of that yard left to right as well.It uses a standard RP-SMA connector, which is the basic type most home wifi antennas use. So the TPlinks eap 225-outdoor AP, and home wifi routers with external antennas on them will work.One thing to be aware of is that as you cannot legally increase Wi-Fi signal strength past limits, a direction antenna such as this is the only effective way of increasing range.The easiest way to understand it is if you have an omnidirectional (all) antenna you distribute the signal over 360 degrees, an 180 degrees antenna then effectively doubles your directional signal strength.(This is 120, so it's a bit higher than that).The drawback here is that it has to be placed properly and if you are behind this or too far to the left or right of its face you will not get a signal. Solutions to this is multi Access Points with multiple of these antennas to cover the entire range.This could be used indoors as well, just realize you will have to aim it correctly.

Have over 100 of these in the air, some in pretty extreme environments. They last and do a good job.

First one of these I have used. Really small but well built. Works way better than expected, Ubiquiti never fails me.
