Recieved these as a gift. Cymbals are fine but are painted so the sound is dull and clunky. I'll try and strip the paint and hopefully they will sound better. Good for the price but not good sound.

So at certain times of day, I can't play my acoustic set so I use an electronic kit. If you use or have used an electronic kit you know how miserable the hi-hat is, so I bought this primarily for the hi-hat. These obviously are low budget cymbals and sound like it, but I can now use these with my electronic kit and get the same action and response as real hi-hats. The larger cymbals sound ok, the splashes don't sound so great, BUT, they are low volume and provide the real feel and response so I found these invaluable as a low volume solution and would recommend if you need low volume, but real cymbal feel and not so concerned about sound quality. And yes, that was quite the run-on sentence...

I have been a drummer for 20 years and have played all types of cymbals from low volume to regular to experimental and these are a great value! I love the look and it is a lot more enjoyable to use with my A2E recording-focused hybrid kit than the rubber E-cymbals. I am super happy with them and would definitely recommend them to drummers looking for lower volumes for practicing. From the hats to the ride all are great (18" crash being the best imo). The splashes leave a bit to be desired though, they are more clangy than they should be so I am using them (6" & 8") as a stack that pairs well with the larger splash. The china has a slightly shrill sound, but totally serviceable and does sound different than the crashes. I do wish the ride was a 22" and had a slightly larger bell, but that's personal preference as the 20" works just fine.Pros:The quantity for the price is awesome, buying a set like this from major manufacturers would be insane.Cool look (though I am concerned about the longevity of the black finish). An effective quiet sound that allows me to have a better practicing/recording experience.Cons:Splashes are pretty weak, but can be combined with others for a more FX type of sound.Stick marks developed very quickly (to be expected), but finish seems pretty good after two weeks of daily playing. Though as mentioned in the pro section, I do not know how long it'll last. I'll update this review down the road.

Nice looking low volume cymbals. More hours of practice without disturbing the neighbours.
