You can't even connect a small portable hard-drive to the USB-A ports. USB memory sticks works but any small portable hard drive (I tried 3) can't work because the dock cannot provide suffisant power. Considering that a 20$ powered USB hub can handle multiple ones, this dock is useless - especially considering the premium price, I was expecting it to as least do as good as a powered hub, but no. I have tested its power supply with a voltmeter and it's providing the correct voltage so I don't think there's anything defective on that side.

On an M3 Pro machine you get a single 4K60 display, a 1080p display and no ethernet. Not nearly worth the price difference over cheaper models.[Update] To confirm another review, only one of the six USB-A ports on this device are actually powered. Making it largely useless for devices such as webcams or stream decks.

I'm going to focus this review on my specific use case. MacBook Pro M2 Pro - 2 BenQ 4K monitors, both connected via HDMI - USB scanner - USB printer - UPS connected via USB - Keyboard and mouse connected via USB unifying receiver - wired network connection. Sometimes there are more peripherals connected to the dock. Everything is connected to the dock. I use the MacBook Pro charger connected directly to the MacBook Pro.Before I got this dock, I had two USB-C dongles for peripherals with multiple things also plugged into the MBP also. This worked, but there were always glitches of one sort or another. With this dock, there are no glitches. It all just works. I think the fact that that the dock is managing everything through Thunderbolt may make things work better (no other peripherals connected directly to the MBP).Apparently this is a well engineered and well built dock. It's quite heavy with an external power supply which is good. Aesthetically and ergonomically, everything is now out of the way with no dongles and cables all over the place. It makes it much easier to go mobile with the MBP.It's pricey and the lower price during Black Friday days is what convinced me to buy it. I'd checked it out before, but couldn't bring myself to purchase it at the regular price. It would have sure been nice to have had this much longer ago.

I had high hopes for what was a top end capability docking station. My setup is fairly new high end Windows based mainline laptop and simple one monitor and speaker setup. The dock would function then randomly drop out and not be able to recognize my monitor. I did work with their tech support, who was helpful, but after buying all new certified cables and every other suggested item, the unit continued to fail/drop out at the most inconvient times. After failing just prior to a meeting, and now spending many hours on this issue, I packed it up for return.I just received a new dock that is based on DisplayLink software technology. That dock fired right up, no issues, and is as stable as can be. Night and day.While this may work well for you, the issues I was having were never able to be resolved or identified. My DisplayLink based dock sure works like a charm.
