These worked very well to hold ribbon to wood, which is what I bought them to do. I found it fairly easy to hold them straight up and down though I have slender fingers. When I was keeping in mind to take it slow and keep them really straight-on they worked out very well. As soon as I got relaxed about it they didn't go in as straight, so then I just took it slower. Out of 18 I didn't bend any badly enough to be unusable.On the package which arrived it says not to wipe them with a damp cloth or with chemicals. Just something to have in mind.If I do a similar project again I'll likely measure out dots where I want the tacks to be. Lining them up with each other by eye didn't produce a perfect alignment for me but that does not reflect on the tacks, just a tip for any crafter reading this. ;-)

These were excellent! I had no problems with the sharpness of the tacks at all. In fact, not a single one bent! I was a little nervous about that from other reviews. I would not hesitate to order these again if needed. I used them on my couch.
