Picture shows the difference between these and an OEM one from BMW. Orings are different sizes. The right one is OEM and doesn't leak.I bought these in the meantime while I wait for the OEM BMW drain plugs arrive from ECS Tuning. I bought 2 just in case I accidentally broke the wings off while installing. But that didn't even matter as these drain plugs leaked immediately. Lubed the orings and everything. These were being installed into a brand new OEM radiator. So, long review short, I would not recommend these. Buy at your own risk. Maybe you'll get lucky and get one that works, though.

I used this on a E46 to replace the leaking one and it fit perfectly.

Part locks in and cannot be removed without breaking the lock tabs. After that you have to buy another. The o ring doesn't come on the piece so I screwed it in thinking it was an extra piece and when I tried to unscrew it the tabs broke off. Bought a second and both tabs broke off when I tried to tighten it. It's BMW's bad design not the part makers fault.I guess I'll buy a third one and try not to bust this one... Lol

Simple to install with some elbow grease and a small hammer. Couldn't find this item locally at any auto parts store. Ordered from Amazon and had it delivered the next day. Radiator is no longer leaking and for $8 you can afford to replace this part every time you change the coolant. UPDATE: Make sure you have the right radiator and part. Stick with OEM, etc if possible. Ended up being a defective aftermarket radiator. THESE PARTS STILL GREAT!
