My old viper 7142V remote shells all chipped and cracked. I’m glad someone else took a chance and tried it and it worked! Saved lots $$ than buying full remotes with the electronics. My remotes worked fine except the shells were broken a part. High recommend as of now. There are no numbers or markings on the new shell to say they are OE Viper/DEI shells. They work and hopefully they last.

The keyring loop on the Python 7145P is too thin and breaks easily due to normal use, so I needed a replacement but didn't want to pay for a whole new remote. I asked in customer questions if this would fit the Python 7145 alarm remote. One person said they didn't think so, a second said it definitely wouldn't. They were both wrong. I went ahead and ordered it to try it for myself, figuring it was only $8 and offered free returns. Turns out it fits the Python 7145P perfectly. The case is somewhat different in size and shape, but the electronics inside are identical. This case is actually an improvement on the Python; the loop for the keyring is a bit thicker and looks like it will last longer (hopefully), and the feel of the buttons is better. If you have a Python 7145P, definitely get this as a replacement case.Five stars for this great replacement case. One star for Amazon's terrible customer support that was unable to figure out how I could add the correct answer to the question I had asked - after half an hour of chatting they still didn't even understand the problem. It's also way harder than it should be just to get in touch with Customer Service, but take the hint, it's probably not worth the effort. For the Customer Questions, if you don't know the correct answer, don't post your answer, you're just adding noise. I'm now going to delete that question so it doesn't mislead anyone else.

Everything fits and works as it should but there is a blank square on the back that has a viper stamp on the original. I mean it's no big deal as everything fits and works as it should. If you need one to replace a damaged one like I did you get two for less the price of one from Viper soooooooo, winning around tbh. Original on the left
