I simply removed the factory plug in the top of the transmission dipstick tube and slid this in. I like to check my trans fluid when it is "hot". After I drive home from work, I park on the level driveway and leave the car idling, with the shifter in Park. I pull this dipstick out and wipe it off with a rag or paper towel. Then, I slide it all the way back in. Now I pull the dipstick out again and hold it level (horizontally) in the light to check tge "hot" level. From 'full' to 'add' takes less than ½ a quart, so be careful and don't ovverfill it.This transmission dipstick works well. It has an o-ring seal and it locks into place, so I can leave it installed in my Charger all the time. Everyone who knows how to check transmission fluid should have one of these installed in their Dodge Magnum, Charger, Challenger or Chrysler 300.
