I only did competitive dance for a very short time, and I haven't done it in 20 years, but I still like to get out once in a while and I've been thinking of getting a bit more into it recently, so when these popped up, I figured I'd give them a try. I'll start with what I liked. The fit is nice and agile, not too tight or loose. It's made so you can really move in it, but with better floor feel than even a good pair of running shoes. That part is great. They look pretty good, and the perforated look lends itself to more casual settings. My old competition shoes would look overly formal for a salsa club, so I can definitely appreciate the stylish, but informal look of these shoes. That said, there are some things I don't like. I don't like the fact that the insole is glued in. Either stitch it in, or leave it loose so it can be upgraded. Generally, on a shoe of this quality--ie, a low-cost, disposable shoe--I would expect them to make it pretty comfortable and stitch it in, so the whole shoe pretty much wears out at the same rate and you toss it when it's done. Glue is just lazy, and it inevitably creates premature wear spots on the insole because the glue bumps are both higher and harder than the rest of the footbed. On top of that, the upper has that kind of paper-y feel that cheap fake leather always does. So I already know it's not going to last. Lastly, the heel needs to be trimmed better. Nice shoes will have a chamfered edge. At this price point, I don't expect that, but I would at least expect them to use a jig to trim it with. There's a good 1/8" of overhang there, which just looks sloppy. Easy enough to fix, plus I was going to trim back the heel pad anyway. I always trim off about an inch of suede on the heel and toe and replace it with flexible plastic strip so I can do my turns faster. Fun little pro tip from 20 years ago.Overall, if you're thinking about taking up salsa or getting into dance as a hobby, but aren't really sure yet, maybe consider this more of a 4 star review, because these shoes are great for that. They'll last you long enough to make up your mind, and they'll look and feel pretty good in the process. But if you decide to stick with it, you'll definitely need to upgrade, because these won't hold up long if you spend a lot of time practicing in them. And the material is so thin and cheap that you really can't mod them very much, which you will likely want to do if you get a pair if nicer shoes. But for my purposes, these are just so-so.

My wife and I are ballroom dancers (just for fun, not professionally). We dance at least once a week in a real ballroom with a proper dance floor, and for this I use expensive ballroom shoes. But we also cruise a lot and love to dance every night on cruises (I won't mention names, but some cruise lines have great music and "adequate" dance floors). Unfortunately, dance floors on cruise ships aren't anything like ballroom floors and are usually not the cleanest (you wouldn't believe how many people just have to bring their drinks on the dance floor and end up spilling). So, I don't like to wear my expensive shoes on cruises, and I ordered these inexpensive dance shoes. They're not real leather but are synthetic, one of the reasons why they can be sold for such a low price. They are well made, with suede soles and insoles. They are comfortable and true to size (I ordered 10.5, my usual size, and they fil comfortably. Good starter shoes for ballroom dancing.

I absolutely love these shoes! I’m not a dancer, but I got them because I really like the look and plan to wear them for special occasions. They look stylish and feel comfortable on. The soft, faux leather material gives a nice fit, and the 1" heel is just the right height for a bit of lift. My only concern is the bottom—since they’re designed for dancing, the suede-like sole seems like it might wear out if used too roughly or regularly. But for the price, they’re perfect for events and I’m excited to wear them more! Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a chic and comfy shoe for occasional use.

I ordered these ballroom dance shoes, and while they fit well and are true to size, I was disappointed with the quality. The material feels cheap, and the construction doesn’t seem durable. I expected better for the price. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for long-lasting and quality dance shoes for your routine.

I'm overall pleased with these shoes. So they're not real leather and also are not the best quality but come on, they are perfectly good starter dancing shoes for the price that they're selling. They fit true to size, slide well, look good and will last as long as you take care of them.
