I couldn't be happier with the Auto Cooling Fan Dust Proof for my Xbox Series X! I just got a series X last week so I was happy to have found this cooling fan. It very easily slides onto the top face of your xbox series x. In my case, our Xbox is horizontal so I needed to use a couple of the included adhesive strips to keep the fan snug against the xbox. Let it be known that this doesn't attach to your xbox, it floats on the top and has feet that fit into the existing vent holes on the top of your console, therefore if your console is horizontal, you will want to use a sticker or tape to keep it there. The included usb cord plugs the fan into the your console USB and then it has a USB 3.0 and 2.0 on the fan itself. Once you've tested it out, it's pretty easy to understand that you just tap the fan button until it's on your desired setting and the same for the fan button. If you just leave the fan on the green light mode, that's auto mode and it will only turn on when it's needed. You can tap through the light button modes to go from blinking colors to a static color of your choice.The fan works well, not very loud at all until you're on the highest setting and it doesn't seem to need that high of a fan setting under regular use.

The Xbox Series X in our house gets a lot of play from adults as well as the teenagers. In fact, it probably gets more play than do the Xbox 360, Xbox one, and Xbox Series S combined. Granted, it probably has a lot to do with the enormous display to which it is currently attached. With operation / play comes heat and heat should be mitigated where and when possible. Long term effects of heat include premature failure and a host of other potential issues with electronics. The Xbox series of gaming consoles are no exception. As an electronics person, I’m always looking for ways to maximize airflow in an effort to reduce heat in most every device. When I saw this cool looking exhaust accelerator unit, I had to order it. Installation onto the Xbox Series S is straightforward (it sits on top). The snap-in rubber grommets provide an effective barrier to environmental contaminants including dust, smoke, and other particulate matter. The fan unit itself does add noise to the operating environment but not yo a level that’s unreasonable. I do question whether or not that the fan assembly reduces overall operating temperature of the system but it does increase the heated air output into the room in terms of volume. The led lights make for a unique and changing display. If nothing else, the ergonomic top makes the Xbox look “cool” (per the teenager’s observations that is). As for value, it seems not to cause harm and the teenagers find that our Xbox stands apart from others in town, so I must assume they find value in the addition.

The fan with lights works as you would expect it to. It increases the air flow throughout the console when running. I like it solely for the purpose of keeping excess dust out of the console, including the rubber dust covers for every port on the system. It is super easy to plug in the USB and set the fan on top of the console requiring no tools.
