Was super simple to wire in.... Nice to have the switch where it supposed to go.... By the door. Now we don't need to use the pull chains at all. Thank you for the quality product. Snagged this item on super killer deal.... Ade it all that much more worth it to get it then

I got this for my mom's house so she doesn't have to get up to turn off the ceiling fan and turn off the light. It works excellent, and was super easy to install. After the installation I connected it to Alexa and now she can turn the thing on and off all day long!

Every switch in my home is now a Tuya / Smart Life WiFi switch. All 71 of them. Single-gang, two-gang, 4-gang, simple switches, dimmers, 2-way and even a 3-way switch, fan controllers, pool pump controllers, plus a garage door opener and some smart plugs. I've had to put in two more 2.4GHz Access Points for my home network to provide enough slots in the WiFi channels but they all work wonderfully. Home Automation a go-go.I bought this fan/light controller for fans on my deck which have peculiar wiring needs: no separate light and fan wires from the switch and only a live and neutral feed. I chose this over other similar portable-remote ones because this one has a dimmer feature not just a light on/off feature. Sometimes it would be useful to turn the lights up after an evening.It all works wonderfully. Integrates with all my home automations. Mostly happy.BUTThe dimmer feature does not work. I can move the slider but there is no change to the intensity of the LED bulbs, and yes, they are dimmable and do dim in my other dimmable circuits. My other dimmer switches offer a configuration page where I can choose between three different dimming methods (unhelpfully identified as modes 1, 2, or 3) and set upper and lower dimming bounds. This switch offers no such configuration and evidently the dimmable LED bulbs I use are not compatible with the switch's single mode.I will keep the switch since it is installed and I have not lost anything. I am just sad that I chose this one to get the dimming feature which does not work.Somewhat annoyingly, the remote docks with a provided single-wide switch panel, and all my switches are 2- or 3- wide panels. I have had to butcher a 3-wide to fabricate a method to install the custom remote receptacle into a 3-panel box. Another design of fan switch I have uses a remote which is the same size as a regular rocker switch so that was easy-peasy to integrate.There is also a 3-position slider for choosing between 3 color temperatures. Not sure how that would or could work since I do not think there is a standardized signal over 120V wiring to a bulb, and nor does there seem to be a way to link the selector to control bulb(s) using a separate side-channel method. If I figure it I will update this review.Finally, I had to make sure the order was for a white switch rather than black or almond and the item I received is white. The same white as everything else. So, as of September 2024 the color mismatch issue reported in other reviews seems to have been solved.

Update, this trash broke after a few months, don’t buy any of these!!!These things are great, I have five. The biggest problem is that they randomly talk to each other when using the RF connection from the wall remote to the receiver in the fan. I turn on one room and it comes on but so does another room on the other side of the house (sometimes). I don’t believe that this happens when you use Alexa. I would love it if the company contacted me and let meKnow how to fix this (if it’s possible). I’d give five stars it if wasn’t for this issue. These things are too expensive since to have this happen….

You'd think the bar for fan and light control modules would be pretty low, but I had some challenges.This FCM works fine in my petersford fan with integrated dimmable LED so far. The app control works as expected and Alexa integration performs with acceptable performance... The time delta between Alexa acknowledging me and the fan reacting is less than half a second by my estimate.This product is louder than the OEM FCM and the insteon FCM I'm replacing. There is a very audible CLICK when the fan is started/stopped or the speed is changed. Its not annoying or anything, but is different.What is irritating though is that this module is slightly thicker and longer than either of the other modules ive installed. There's very little clearance inside the fan harness, so it was difficult to fit this beastie in. My fan is also installed on an angled ceiling, so theres very little room above the downrod due to the fan sitting in the joint at a slight angle. Im actually not sure if the fan is able to wobble freely without physically stressing the FCM.My fan is not wired to a physical switch, so initial setup (requiring holding a button shortly after the unit boots) necessitated running back to the fan from the circuit breaker. Not a deal breaker, but worth mentioning. If your breaker panel is far from your install site, you may want to have a helper on hand to do the initial setup.
