Works well but a 2000 rpm 24v drill or a 500w ac drill is definitely required. The rods are a little stiff but they bend well enough to reach past tight angles. The spring ball rod connectors seem secure, but I wrap each connector with electrical tape as they are fed up the chimney...just to be sure.

Oh how I wish I had taken a picture of all of the creosote that came out of the chimney when my husband used this chimney cleaner! I would have shared it in this review!! It was about half a bucket full of pure fine black dust! I didn’t think that was possible. I understand how fire places may cause fires now.Functionally: the chimney cleaner did a fantastic job. It came with everything including the rods as advertised. We already had the drill so we didn’t buy one. However, if you don’t have the drill, I would recommend that you buy a set of chimney cleaner that comes with a drill. This was well worth the cost! Prior to buying this chimney cleaner, we called a few places to get estimates on the cost of cleaning our chimney. The lowest quote ran around $170.00. You’re smart so just do the math. We’ve only had and used this chimney sweeper for a short time, however, it is sturdy and seems durable. It was super easy to use and fool proof. The bristles did not lose their shape after cleaning the chimney which is great. My husband tested a small section of the chimney for effectiveness prior to using and said that the section of the chimney that he could see was not scratched when he tested the chimney cleaner prior to completing the full cleaning.

Used it to clean the 25 ft stainless pipe on our wood-burning fireplace insert. Only little issue is that the extensions can be a bit tough to separate after use. A little tap with a hammer releases the tension on the locking ball, and it is then easy to push in and to separate the joint

Better quality than expected, worked very well, rods went together and came apart perfectly. May not be as thorough as a professional cleaning, but 100 times cheaper, and it was nice to clean my chimney from my basement instead of my roof. Now I'll do it more often. In the spring I'll do it with my old wire brush to see if much was left behind, if not, I'll never get up on my roof again.

I know they say to skip 5 star reviews, but you should read this one. This worked well for my ~20ft chimney and really feels like a great investment. BUT I also had an issue trying to run piping under my deck, so I needed something flexible to shove under, over rocks and wood, and pull out the other side. I jammed this thing under my deck for hours, pushing a rope through successfully. On some models, the rods come apart, but these didn't come apart, even when they were hit, dragged, and pulled on. Very sturdy, well made product. Strongly recommend.
